| Meeting Minutes - June 14,2009
Cathy
Here's the notes that I had from last night's meeting. I hope you can get the minutes out to several of the parents.
Next meetings are scheduled for July 19th,
Aug 16th, Sept 20th, & Oct 18th. All at 5 p.m. at Things that we are raising money for include more weights, equipment bags, rib protectors, and to pay the volunteer coaches. Discussed the car wash originally scheduled
for Sat. June 20th. Can not use the parking lot at Wal-Mart, K-Mart, or
Lowe's. Did find out that Talked about the possibility of us hosting a weight lifting competition, possibly a challenge to some of the local schools. Sounds like something to pursue. Mendon is having their 175th Festival June 26th -28th. We will be selling walking tacos from 11-2 on Saturday and doing the football toss all day on Saturday. Need helpers, please contact Kathy Wittler as to when you could work.. Approved having a booth again this year at Old Settler's on Aug 7th and 8th. Kelly was informed to go ahead and pay the $30 booth fee. Kelly & Dan Zanger have contacted Wal-Mart and gotten verbal agreement to take 20% off cost of WII and Flat Screen TV. Committee agreed to let them continue coming up with what to sell as raffle items. Will continue to do football toss and team is to walk in parade in the afternoon. Need to get a signup sheet going for the meals for Friday and Monday games. Every family will be expected to do at least one meal. You will have the option to choose your night, but if not, then a night will be chosen for you. Trying to gather up all monies the committee has and also t-shirts etc. If you have any football parents items etc, please contact Kathy Wittler. We found documentation that Kelly has $43.66 and Mary has $769.38 at end of 2008 season. Chris Huckstep turned in money collected from Gus Macker weekend. It totaled $1,193.25 of which $25 was given to Kathy Wittler for food permit for Mendon Festival. Field Committee consists of Chris Huckstep and David Wittler. Adams County Fair, we will have a booth inside the Morton Bldg to set up selling raffle tickets. Football toss will need to be outside somewhere. Will need workers weekdays 6-9 and weekend 12-9. Discussed when first day of two-a-days will be, thinking it's Aug 12th. Need to verify with Coach Asbury. We need to look into who might be able to do the program book this year if Angie is unable to. Discussed the tunnel for the football field. Was shown a 12x20x8 dome garage that would be semi-permanent for $550. Would need to order in the next couple weeks in order to have in time to paint mustang on outside for first game. Committee approved ordering this so that we could get this completed. Asked if there was going to be a need for more volunteer coaches. Do not know at this time. Discussed blankets as a fund-raiser. Can get from Landmark and not have to pay set up charges if we use the same design as the t-shirts had. Cost will be approx $12-15 and will sell for $20. Debbie to contact to see what the quickest turnaround would be and what the actual cost would be on 50 blankets. That is most likely what our first order would be. Will also check into hats and costs. Discussed the football signs like what was around the football field at homecoming last year. No decision made. The committee was informed that 13 boys went to the Louisiana Weightlifting competition, 6 from Payson and 7 from Unity and that the Payson Athletic Booster Club graciously paid the entry fee for ALL boys when Unity did not. It was agreed that a thank you card would be purchased and that Neal would have the boys sign and then get it to the booster club. Also several pictures were taken and Coach Asbury will soon have an unprofessionally taped DVD of the event. Found out that there is some problems with where the money was deposited by the Unity Booster Club from the Mustang raffle last year. This is still being worked out but strengthened the need to keep monies earned by this committee in a separate account. Have a possibility and would need someone from Unity and someone from Payson to sign on as treasurer's.
I will try getting a hold of Landmark tomorrow, if not it will be next week. Hope this helps.
